Wild-simulated ginseng is designated and managed as a specially managed forest product by the Korea Forest Service, but systematic research and standard cultivation guidelines differ from the reality of cultivation in the field. Therefore, in this study, 10 samples of wild ginseng were collected and tested to determine the content of ginsenosides according to the environmental conditions of wild-simulated ginseng cultivation sites in Pyeongchang. The site environment was examined in terms of slope, orientation, elevation, tree type, tree diameter, and tree height using the classification criteria of the National Academy of Forestry Sciences, and divided into coniferous and broadleaf forests. The soil chemistry analysis showed that the overall content was higher in the broadleaf area than in the coniferous area, and the statistical analysis showed that there was statistical significance between the coniferous and broadleaf areas in plots A, B, C, and D. In plot D, there was little difference between the coniferous and broadleaf areas. The results of the ginsenosides content analysis showed a high content of Re, Rb1, and Rg1, in that order, confirming the main components of wild-simulated ginseng in Pyeongchang. As a result of the study, it can be expected that wild-simulated ginseng should be selected as a cultivation site similar to the environment where wild ginseng can grow well to produce high-quality products. We hope that the results of this study can be utilized as a resource to help increase the income of foresters.
